Kebab Also known as the Three Dots Menu. Can be vertical or horizontal. | The Kebab will give you a menu of options. You can find these throughout the platform. Vertical kebabs are usually on the right side of list or grid views, while horizontal kebabs are on the left side of Articles, Clauses, and their items, such as Paragraphs or Rows. |
Hamburger Also known as the Three Lines Menu or Actions Menu. | Clicking the Hamburger icon opens a menu with different options you can choose from. You’ll see these menus throughout the platform, usually on 'Actions' buttons. |
Drop-Down Also known as the Drop-down Arrow or Suggestions menu. | Clicking the drop-down shows a menu of options you can choose from. You will usually find these icons next to Article or Clause items, such as paragraphs or rows. |
The Breadcrumb Trail | The breadcrumb trail shows how you reached your current area of the platform. You can find it at the top left of the screen, either inside or just below the purple banner. Use it to go back to other parts of your project. |
Plus Icon | The blue plus icon lets you add content to your specification. You can find it on the add content page and in the products panel. |
Park | The Park icon can be found to the left-hand side of Article/ Clause titles (only for sectional content), to the left-hand side of Article/ Clause items (Paragraphs/ Rows) in the editor panel and to the left-hand side of Article/ Clause titles (only for sectional content) in the summary schedule view. Clicking this icon will Park the corresponding article/ clause or article/ clause item, or if it has already been parked it will also un-park the corresponding item. Pencil icon | Clicking the pencil icon opens the 'Edit details' dialog, where you can edit certain Section or Article or Clause reference details. You will find this icon to the right of Article or Clause titles in the editor panel and summary schedule view. |
Lock Icon | The lock icon means another user is editing this Article or Clause right now. You will see it at the top right corner of a checked-out (locked) article or clause. You might also see this icon when searching or browsing for content. This shows that the content is not included in your current subscription. For further information, please see This content is not part of your current subscription. |
Template (Section/ Clause) | The Template icon indicates that an item in the search results does not contain any pre-written specification content (templates). This can be found when using the search facility next to template content. |
| Duplicate Article/ Clause | When clicked, the Duplicate Article/ Clause icon creates a copy of the relevant article/ clause (as it was when last saved). This can be found on the kebab menu for articles/ clauses in sectional content. |
| Copy | When clicked, the Copy icon will copy the relevant article/ clause (as it was when last saved) to the system clipboard. This can be found on the kebab menu for articles/ clauses in sectional content. |
| Paste | When clicked, the Paste icon will paste a previously copied article/ clause (as it was when last saved) to the system clipboard. This can be found on the kebab menu for articles/ clauses in sectional content. |
| Insert Item | When clicked, the Insert Item icon adds a new article/ clause into the section. These can be found on the kebab menu for articles/ clauses in sectional content. |
| Move | When clicked, the Move icon will reposition the relevant article/ clause directly above or below its current position. These can be found on the kebab menu for articles/ clauses in certain sectional-based content sets. |
Duplicate Paragraph/ Row | When clicked, the Duplicate Paragraph/ Row icon will create a copy of the relevant paragraph/ row (as it currently displayed). This can be found on the kebab menu for paragraphs/ rows. |
Insert Row | When clicked, the Insert Row icon adds a new row directly above, below or below and indented to the relevant row. These can be found on the kebab menu for paragraphs/ rows. |
| Table | When clicked, the Table icon adds a blank 4x3 table into the relevant paragraph/ row. This can be found on the kebab menu for paragraphs/ rows. |
Notes | The Notes icon will switch to the 'Spec notes' panel on the right-hand side of the screen and allow you to record a spec note against the relevant paragraph/ row. This can be found on the kebab menu for paragraphs/ rows. |
| Quick Actions | The Quick Actions icon allows you to quickly access recently opened or pinned projects. This can be found in the top right-hand corner of the platform. |
Notification Icon - As known as the Notification Bell | The Notification icon alerts you to something requiring your attention. It does this by additionally displaying a blue badge when a notification has been received. Typically, these might be a project invitation or a specification that has finished publishing in the background. The number displayed in the blue badge indicates the number of notifications awaiting attention. This can be found in the top right-hand corner of the platform. |
Linked Clause | The Linked Clause icon is displayed at the left-hand side of any blue bubbles (chips) within Uniclass Work Section clauses. These collectively indicate a 'secondary' clause that has been linked into/ associated with the 'primary' clause you are currently viewing. The blue bubble also displays the prefix title suffix of the 'secondary' clause. |
Broken Link | The Broken Link icon is displayed at the left-hand side of any red bubbles (chips) within Uniclass Work Section clauses. These collectively indicate a 'secondary' clause that was linked into/ associated with the 'primary' clause you are currently viewing, but has now been removed from the specification. The red bubble also displays the prefix title suffix of the 'secondary' clause. To resolve these broken links please see What are broken links and how to fix them. |
| Placeholder | The Placeholder icon allows you add a placeholder for the relevant clause rather than adding and linking the full clause. It can be found on the right-hand side of clause suggestions in the suggestions menu for Uniclass Work Section clauses. For further information regarding placeholder clauses please see How to add a placeholder clauses. You will also see this icon at the left-hand side of any grey bubbles (chips) within Uniclass Work Section clauses. These collectively indicate a placeholder clause has been added into the clause you are currently viewing. The grey bubble also displays the title of the placeholder clause. |
Shared Clause | The Shared Clause icon is displayed at the left-hand side of the shared by panel. You will find these at the top of Uniclass Work Sections clauses that are linked into (shared by) two or more parent clauses (typically systems). Each of the parent clauses will be listed next to this icon. At the right-hand side of the shared by panel is an arrow button which can be used to expand or contract the list. |
Hyperlink | The Hyperlink icon is displayed at the right-hand side of blue coloured text; these collectively indicate the presence of a link to an external webpage. Clicking on either the hyperlink icon or the associated blue text will open the linked page. Typically, hyperlinks are included on standards and other reference material cited within the platform. Hyperlinks can also be user-defined. |
File Link/ Browse File | When clicked this icon will open a system file browser window, allowing you to navigate to and select a file to upload into the platform. This can be found when creating/ editing a project or master, when importing a previous specification (certain content sets only), when uploading a stylesheet or when importing variables. |
Bin / Trash - Also known as the Delete Button or Trash Can | When the Bin icon is clicked the relevant item e.g. section or clause will be removed from the specification. This can be found at the right-hand side of an item selected in the contents panel, or when hovering over other items in the contents panel. |
Model Link - Also known as Specification Link | The Model Link icon will be displayed to the left-hand side of a specification, section or article/ clause title, to indicate that a link has been created from the relevant item to something in a building information model. Typically this can be found in the specifications list and content list. |
| Master Rosette | The Masters Rosette icon indicates that the relevant article/ clause has originally come from a master specification. Clicking on the master rosette icon will display the details of the originating master. The master rosette icon can be found to the left-hand side of the referencing details for such articles/ clauses. |
