The tagging functionality is a powerful tool that allows specifiers to add user-defined tags to any section, system, article or clause. This feature enhances the value of the specification document, making it more versatile and useful for various purposes. For instance, it could be used to generate a fire safety or sustainability report from all clauses tagged with a fire safety or sustainability tag. Similarly, tags could be added to manage the construction phase of a project where prototypes, samples, or spares are required to be provided.
Please note: 'Variables' are available with 'Premium'.
How do tags work?
- Who – tags are added to items in the specification. Specifiers with 'Contributor' permission (and above) can add and remove tags to articles, clauses and sections. 'Readers' and 'Designers' cannot add and remove tags.
- Where – tags work with all content sets in the platform.
- Tags are user-defined text labels.
- You can add tags to whole articles, clauses, and sections.
- This includes Uniclass 'Activity', ‘Elements/ functions’, 'System', and 'Product' clauses.
- Tags are copied when articles, clauses and sections are copied. So, if you add tags to, for example, a master specification, the tags will be copied when the master is copied into a project specification.
- Why – tags can be used to display information in the ‘Contents’ and ‘Summary’ grids.
- You can select tagged items to produce tag-driven specifications and reports such as 'Summary schedules'.
