This article will walk you through how to save a published specification to the 'Publish history' and how to compare published specifications. While publishing specifications in Chorus, you can save publications as you go and compare previous publications to the one you are creating. In this way you will be able to view difference between previous and current versions of a specification.
Please note: 'Separate documents' is available with Chorus Pro and above.

How to 'Compare' your specification with a previous version and save to the 'Publish history'
- Select your specification and enter the ‘Publish specification’ wizard.
- Select your desired structure for your document within the ‘Structure’ step.
- 'Add revision history' – If you plan to compare the current publish with a previous one, you can add the revision history to see a summary of publishes. Read more about revision history.
- In the ‘Compare’ step, select the publication you wish to compare against.
- Within this same step, choose your desired ‘Compare options’:
- Choose which options to include in the published document. You can leave both checkboxes blank, select both checkboxes, or select only one:

- ‘Add detailed revisions.’ – This will display detailed revisions within your published document. Read more about Detailed revisions.
- ‘Add details of amended clauses.’ – This will display details of amended clauses within your published document. Read more about Details of amended clauses.
- Choose how you want to compare from the various options. To learn more, please refer to 'Compare options' for publishing.

- Choose which options to include in the published document. You can leave both checkboxes blank, select both checkboxes, or select only one:
- Within the ‘Publication details’ step, you can select to preserve your publication by choosing to ‘Save a copy to the publish history and keep change details for later comparisons’.
