The platform allows you to tag articles, clauses and sections for various workflows, from publishing work packages to reporting on fire critical items and contractor actions. These user-defined tags can serve any purpose you need, giving you the power to customize your workflow.

This article explains how to add tags to your specifications.

Please note: 'Tags' are available with 'Premium'.

Adding tags

To add a tag, click the pencil icon, enter your tag label into the ‘Tags’ field, and press the ‘Enter’ key. Your tag will turn into a solid chip. Save your changes. Each tag will display a 'X' to remove it.

To add multiple tags, press the 'Enter', ‘Comma’ or 'Tab' keys after each tag to turn it into a solid chip and enter the following tag.

  • Tags are user-defined text labels that can be added to whole articles, clauses, and sections.
    • Tags cannot be added to clause rows or article paragraphs, only whole items.
  • To add or remove tags, you must have ‘Contributor’ permission (or above) to the specification.
    • 'Readers' and 'Designers' cannot add and remove tags.
  • To add a tag to a parked article or clause, first, unpark the item so that the pencil icon appears.
  • To add a tag to a completed (green tick) article or clause, mark the item as incomplete to show the pencil icon.

Top tip: Try to follow a consistent naming convention for your tags. This will make selecting them from the ‘Tags’ menu easier. See ‘Use cases for tags’.

Suggested tags already used in this specification

Once you add and save, a tag will appear in the tag suggestions menu against other items within the same specification.

Please note: Tags from different specifications are not suggested. This means a tag entered into, for example, Spec A is not suggested in Spec B. However, tags are copied with specification content. Please see Copying tags.
