'Spec notes' enable you to record project decisions directly in your specification as they are developed, e.g. why an article or clause was parked, a design preference or an essential health and safety requirement.
The short video below provides a demonstration of this functionality. The longer video at the end of this support article provides a more in-depth overview of the specification notes functionality.
With 'Spec notes' you can:
- Record decisions taken in the context of the specification.
- Edit and delete notes you have entered.
- Reply to existing notes and start a threaded note.
- See new notes and replies get posted in real-time.
Please note:
Spec notes are available with 'Pro' (and above) subscriptions.
'Spec notes' are stored in the context of the spec and are recorded either against the whole clause/ article or, for greater precision, notes can also be recorded against individual rows (also known as paragraphs and sub-paragraphs).
If a system, section, clause, article or row that contains notes is copied or duplicated, the notes are not copied across with their corresponding host.
'Spec notes' are visible within the specification editor and are not published with the specification.
