Please note: When copying content (sections and systems), Spec Notes associated with the content are not copied with the content. Spec Notes is a 'Pro' (or above) feature.

Lattira Spec and NBS Chorus enable copying selected content within the same specification (duplicating). This can be done either via keyboard shortcuts or the 'Actions' button. This support article explains how to use keyboard shortcuts. For instructions on using the 'Actions' button, please see the video at the bottom of this support article.

Copying sections within the same specification (sectional based content sets)

1. Within the specification, select (tick) the checkbox or checkboxes next to the section(s) you wish to copy (duplicate).

2. On the keyboard press Ctrl + C (Windows) or Cmd + C (Mac), to copy the selected section(s) to the system clipboard. A confirmation message is displayed briefly at the bottom of the window.

3. Next, on the keyboard press Ctrl + V (Windows) or Cmd + V (Mac), to paste the selected section(s) from the system clipboard into the specification. A confirmation message is displayed briefly at the bottom of the window.

The previously selected section(s) will be duplicated within the same specification. The section reference details for the duplicated section(s) will be the same as the original. You may therefore wish to review the section code and/ or title of both the original and duplicated section(s) to differentiate them.

To do this:

1. Click into the section to bring it into view in the editor screen.

2. Click on the Pencil icon displayed to the right of the section code and title at the top of the section.

3. Amend the Code and/ or Title as required.

4. Click the Save button to save your changes.

Copying systems within the same specification (AU/UK Uniclass Work Sections based content sets)

When copying a Uniclass system clause, any clauses linked into the system clause will also be copied (duplicated) with the system. The copies of such linked clauses will be ones linked into the copy of the system.

1. Within the specification, select (tick) the checkbox or checkboxes next to the system(s) you wish to copy.

2. On the keyboard press Ctrl + C (Windows) or Cmd + C (Mac), to copy the selected system(s) to the system clipboard. A confirmation message is displayed briefly at the bottom of the window.

3. Next, on the keyboard press Ctrl + V (Windows) or Cmd + V (Mac), to paste the selected system(s) from the system clipboard into the specification. A confirmation message is displayed briefly at the bottom of the window.

The previously selected system(s) will be duplicated within the same specification. Additionally, any other clauses linked into the selected system(s) will also be duplicated within the same specification. The Suffix of each duplicated clause will be updated automatically to differentiate them from the original clause.

The duplicates of any linked clauses will be the specific instance/ version of the clause that are linked into the duplicate of the system(s).

You may therefore wish to review the clause reference details (prefix, title and/ or suffix) of both the original and duplicated clause(s) to further differentiate them. You may also wish to use Consolidate feature to identify duplications in your Uniclass specification and consolidate them.

Please note: The same principles detailed above can also be used to copy any other clause types displayed in the contents grid, e.g. activity, element/ function or product clauses, or a mixture of clause types. Any clauses which are linked into a clause which is copied, will also be copied (duplicated).
