Applies to: Uniclass work section-based specifications only.
A shared clause is one that has been linked into two or more parent/ host clauses, for example, a Product clause for standard gypsum plasterboard that has been linked into a System clause for a gypsum board wall lining system and a System clause for a gypsum board partition system.
How such clauses appear in the published specification depends on the specification structure option selected. Please refer to the separate Publish by 'single systems' or 'grouped systems by code' support article for additional information on this option.

Single Systems
With the Single Systems option, shared clauses referenced across the document are only published in full the first time they appear in the specification. To indicate they are shared across the specification, they will have a 'shared by' reference included.

Thereafter in the other parent/ host clauses, they each include a hyperlink reference to the full version published earlier in the document.

Group Systems by Code
A group of system clauses is one or more system clauses with the same code.
With the Group Systems by Code option, when a clause is linked to by more than one group of systems, the shared clause is presented in full in each group. With this option, because shared clauses are published in full in each group, there is no 'shared by' reference.
Groups can be read standalone and contain all the clauses they reference, and are presented fully.
