This article shares some of the improvements we are making to Copilot during the closed beta testing phase.

18 November 2025

  • We introduced an additional model, gpt-5. Now, users have a choice of:
    • gpt-4.1.
    • gpt-4.1-mini.
    • (New) gpt-5.
  • Released: 18 November 2025.

07 October 2025

  • Now, Copilot shows a 'Thinking...' message along with a spinner while processing its response.
  • Chorus now saves your selected 'Chat model' as a user preference.

21 July 2025 - Upgrade AI model

  • We are upgrading the models used by Copilot.
    • We will upgrade from gpt-4o and gpt-4o-mini to gpt-4.1 and gpt-4.1-mini.
  • Released: 29 July 2025.

15 July 2025 - Improving the 'Context'

  • From the beta testing feedback so far, we have identified that we need to improve Copilot's 'Context'. This is required when the clause selected by the specifier cannot be checked out.
    • A clause cannot be 'Checked out' when it is marked as 'Complete', 'Parked', or checked out by another user.
    • Unlike other Chorus tabs such as 'Guidance' or 'Spec notes', clicking on a clause that cannot be checked out does not set that clause as the 'Context' for Copilot.
    • Instead, Chorus will use the top clause (usually the system or section) as the 'Context' to generate the response.
    • We will modify this so that Copilot understands which clause the specifier is inquiring about.
  • Released: 12 August 2025.

30 June 2025 - Beta testing started.
