This issue is resolved.

On Monday, November 25, 2024, a fix was applied to the affected specification clauses, which resulted in the 'Description' text being unhidden. 

We recently identified an issue with the ‘UK – Uniclass Work sections’ content, which means that the values entered by specifiers into the ‘Description’ row were not being displayed for some clauses. 

We’re pleased to report that the issue has been fixed. The platform is cloud-based, so we have updated it automatically, and no software updates or reinstallation is needed.

Issue

The specifiers ' text entered into the ‘Description’ row value of the clauses affected is hidden in the editor and published specification.

Cause

This was introduced when changes to clauses were released as part of a content set update.

• This began on 01 May 2024 and went on until 25 November 2024.
• It only affected some clauses within the Uniclass content set.
• It only affected the text entered into the 'Description' row value. 

User experience

1. The platform showed specifiers a notification in the specification 'Update' tab. 
2. When previewing the change, the text is hidden from the 'Description' row in the 'Updates' (middle) panel (see screenshot below).
3. When the specifier clicks 'Update clause' the 'Description' value text becomes hidden.
4. The text is not hidden if the specifier clicks 'Cancel' or 'Ignore changes' or' Ignore changes'.

Clauses and specifications affected

• It affected the 'Description' row value of some of our authored clauses.
• The issue was introduced to the 'UK - Uniclass' content sets from 01 May 2024.
• The issue was corrected on Monday, 25 November 2024.
  • On Monday, November 25, 2024, a fix was applied to the affected specification clauses, which resulted in the 'Description' text being unhidden. 
  • On Tuesday, November 26, a hotfix was released to prevent this issue from occurring.

How does this impact your specification?

We have unhidden the missing 'Description' value text in the affected specs. Existing specifications now display the specified value. 

We have identified the projects and specifications that contain the affected clauses and are emailing the affected users. Additionally, we have located the published specifications in the platform 'Publish History' that include these clauses. We will share this information with the users. If contacted, we recommend you review these publications and republish the specifications if the 'Description' text is missing.

You do not need to take any action for unpublished specifications, as the issue has been automatically resolved.
