Master change notifications enable Master authors to send notifications of significant changes made to the Masters. This functionality was created to empower teams by allowing them to make an informed choice regarding what changes they would or would not like to bring into a Project from a Master/Project. These changes will also be categorized for your ease of use.
Please note:
The 'Updates' tab is available in all subscription plans. The Master change notifications and 'Priority' filter are available only in 'Premium'. Find out more about Premium.
This is a video demonstrating how Master change notifications work.
In summary, Master change notifications provide the following benefits:
- The platform has a notification system that helps you communicate how you change and develop your Masters. Master change notifications allow you to record comments as an 'Update note'. An 'Update note' is similar to a 'Spec note' in that it sits alongside the article or clause. You can categorize your changes in terms of priority. When an 'Update note' is saved, this notifies all the Project specifications that have copied the Master clause. This article explains how specifiers can change their Masters and notify Project specifications about their changes.
- You can now view notifications about changes to articles or clauses you copied from a Master. These changes are viewable in the 'Updates' tab.
- You can now compare a Master article or clause alongside your Project article or clause in the 'Comparison previewer' and use it to apply the changes. You can also park or unpark an entire clause and mark a clause as complete.
