In Chorus, a row is a line in a Chorus clause.
In the past, they had different names, such as clause item or keyword.
Row types
Chorus has 2 types of row:
- Sentence-style
- Property/value pair
A sentence-style row can have multiple inserts, but a property/value pair can only have 1 insert.
Add a new row
- In the central editor panel, select the clause you want to edit. This will check out the clause to you.
- To the left of any existing row, there is a 3 dot menu.
To see the 3 dots, either:- Hover your mouse over a row,
or - Select a row title.
- Hover your mouse over a row,
- In the 3 dot row menu, there are 3 new row options:
- Insert new row above.
- Insert new row below.
- Insert new indented row below.
- Select the option you need.
The new row is added in the location you requested:
- The new row automatically takes the next appropriate number in sequence.
- The new row has a default title of New Item.
- By default:
- In a new clause, the row will be a sentence-style row
- In a previously published clauses, the new row will be a property/value pair row.
- To save your changes, select the Save button to the right of the clause title.
Edit row title
In bundles, all row titles are editable by default.
To edit a row title
- Check out the clause.
- Select the row title you want to change.
- Edit the title.
- Save your change.
End of title colon
You don’t have to add a colon at the end of a row title:
Chorus will add a colon after the row title when the clause is checked in, or in any other read-only mode:
Long row titles
When the clause is read only, any long row titles will wrap so the text is shown in full:
In edit mode, row titles are shown on one line. For long row titles, this may mean that some of the text is initially hidden:
To edit the text at the end of a long row title:
- Click into the row title.
- Use the keyboard right arrow key to move the cursor to the right, one character at a time,
or
Use the keyboard End button to go to the right hand end of the row.
Change row type
Chorus has 2 types of row:
- Sentence-style
- Property/value pair
To change the row type:
- Select the row.
- From the 3 dot menu to the left of the row, select Change row type.
- The row will switch to the other row type:
- A sentence-style row becomes a property/value pair.
- A property/value pair becomes a sentence-style row.
- Save your change.

Delete a new row
Any row that has been added new in this bundle can be deleted.
- Select the row.
- From the 3 dot menu to the left of the row, select Delete row.
The row will be deleted. - Save your change.

Known limitations
- Long row titles are not fully visible in edit mode.
- Converting row type can do weird things to existing content. If you get stuck, please reach out for help.
- We don’t always match the new row type to that of the existing neighbouring rows.
