In UK CAWS worksections and UK Uniclass worksections, you can add a partner data placeholder to the guidance. For the customers, this will pull through data linked to that clause that has been provided by one of our partner organizations, such as BCIS.
Add a partner data placeholder
- Select the place in the guidance where you wish to add partner data.
- On the toolbar, to the right of the link icon, there is a button which contains a "square" icon. Select this button.
A placeholder is added to the guidance.
Currently the placeholder assumes a link to BCIS, but if we develop any further partnerships we’ll extend this feature to support them.
Known limitations
Currently:
- This feature is currently only available to UK CAWS worksections and UK Uniclass worksections.
- When you switch to the Preview mode, you will not yet see the data that we’re pulling through from the BCIS api.
- When you use the bundle changes preview, it will not yet show you when the placeholder has been added or deleted.
- The software will not tell you if you have made an error when adding a partner data placeholder.
Examples:- If you add the placeholder to a clause with that doesn’t have linked data, the placeholder will ‘silently fail’. This means that the customers will only see the guidance around the placeholder, but not the partner data itself.
- If you add the placeholder into the wrong area of the guidance:
- If the clause has linked data, the customers will see that data.
- If the clause doesn’t have linked data, the placeholder will silently fail.
- If you add the placeholder more than once to the same piece of guidance:
- If the clause has linked data, the customers will see that data twice.
- If the clause doesn’t have linked data, the placeholder will silently fail.
- This placeholder only supports the partnership with BCIS. We will extend this feature in the future if other data partnerships are agreed.
