Entering a manufacturer not listed on NBS Source into your specification is much easier. This feature avoids specifiers having to manually insert new rows to enter the 'Product reference' and contact information.
You should use this when the manufacturer or product you specify is not listed in NBS Source.
When you fill in the fields in the 'Suggest a manufacturer or product' form, the platform will insert the information into your clause.

Suggest a manufacturer or product
You must provide the manufacturer's name and website within the 'Suggest a manufacturer or product' form. All other fields are optional.
The platform will create a row in your article or clause for each form field. It will automatically park the rows that are left blank.

Accessing the Modal
There are several ways you can go about suggesting a product or manufacturer.
The first option is to access the modal via the suggestions menu for the 'Manufacturer', 'Supplier' or 'Supplied by' rows.
Clicking the tab shown within the suggestions menu for manufacturer, supplier, or supplied by row will redirect you to the 'Suggest a manufacturer or product' modal.
The second option is to access it via the 'Product reference' row.
Clicking the drop-down menu in the 'Product reference' row will redirect you to the 'Suggest a manufacturer or product' modal.
The third option is to access it via the products panel footer. (This option is also keyboard accessible.)
Clicking the link listed at the bottom of the products panel footer should redirect you to the 'Suggest a manufacturer or product'’ form.
Options and what they do
The 'Suggest a manufacturer' form contains two options.

After clicking the 'Suggest' button in the modal, the platform will display a confirmation that your suggestion has been submitted and the information has been added to your clause.
This is a screenshot of the confirmation message, which signals that you have submitted a suggestion.
'Add this data to the clause' – the platform adds the details entered into the clause when this is checked. Any incomplete fields will be added as parked rows.
If your clause already contains a product from NBS Source, the clause rows will be parked, and new rows will be added when you 'Suggest a manufacturer or product'.
'NBS may reach out to you if this manufacturer or product becomes available on NBS Source, are you happy to be contacted?'
- This option is deselected by default.
- When selected, you are asked to enter your preferred telephone number.
