In Chorus, a heading is the title of a group of clauses. You might also know it as a sub-heading.

The heading can be used to show and hide the clauses that belong to it, by expanding and collapsing the group.

Content set rules

For most content sets, headings cannot be changed.

Auto-numbered content sets, such as CMS, NMS, USMS, SpeedSpec, SureSpec, and SpecPack, have pre-defined headings. These headings don’t have guidance.

However, for CAWS work sections and CAWS Prelims you can:

  • Add, edit and delete headings.
  • Add, edit and delete heading guidance.

Add a heading

Headings need to have at least 1 clause below them.

  1. In the Chorus editor, scroll to a clause that is not immediately below a heading
  2. In the 3 dot menu to the left of the clause title, select Insert new heading:

  4. Add a number into the Code field.
    1. CAWS sections list the clauses and headings in code order, so add the number where you want the heading to appear.
    2. Unlike NBS Building, NBS Chorus does not require an “!” after the code of the heading, but you can still add one if that helps you.
    3. The code does not have to be unique. If a heading has the same code as a clause, the heading will be shown first.
  5. Add a Title
  6. Please ignore the Summary schedule tag checkbox.
  7. Select Save. The section will update to add your new heading into the correct place in the section sequence.

  3. Heading guidance changes are only saved when you save the heading.
Use the Save button next to the clause title in the centre editor panel.
  4. The last edited details will update for the heading, and underneath the guidance text.

Delete a new or published heading

Currently, you cannot delete or park headings.

If the section contains a heading that you don’t want the customers to see, edit that heading’s code so that it will sit directly above another heading in the code sequence.

This will automatically hide the extra heading, as it has no clauses directly below it.

Show a hidden heading

If you know the section contains a hidden heading that you want to become visible, add a new clause with a code so that it will sit directly below the hidden heading in the code sequence.

This will automatically show the hidden heading, as it now has a clause directly below it.

Known limitations

  • This feature is not available for AUS Uniclass Prelims. Additional work is required to support these content sets.
  • You cannot edit the Clauses  heading if it appears at the top of the section. NBS Chorus adds this default placeholder heading when there is no authored heading at the top of the section.
    • To remove the default Clauses heading, add your own authored heading above the first clause of the section.
  • If a heading has no clauses directly below it, it will be hidden in the central editor panel and the left hand tree view.
  • Currently, the customers do not receive update notifications for changes to headings.
