Variables can be added to 'Stylesheets'. This means you can add placeholders to your stylesheet and then control the text published on a project-by-project basis using the variable value.

This is helpful if you want to include a 'Client project code' on the specification front cover.

Please note: 'Variables' are available with 'Premium'.

How to add a variable to a stylesheet

Variables are added to the stylesheet as a 'Placeholder'.

Adding placeholders is described in 02 Customizing your stylesheet template, see the 'Placeholder' section for inserting placeholders.

Your placeholder must follow this format: {{var:[your variable name]}}

For example:

Please note: Variables can only support plain text when added to stylesheets as placeholders.

For example, if you were added a table into the variable value, when this is published the table text will be flattened into plain text and the table structure will not be published. This is a constraint of placeholders.
