The current policy is to not use web browser or third-party plug-in spellchecking tools. Any spelling and grammar issues should be checked against Oxford Dictionaries and the House style guide only. If in doubt, please leave spelling changes to the proofreading team.
Why?
During development of the tools, we trialled various spellcheck options, from simple (in-browser tools) through to sophisticated (the paid-for version of Grammarly). As yet, we have been unable to find an affordable solution that meets everyone’s needs. To minimise the amount of time wasted until we find a better solution, the proofing team will be responsible for all the spelling checks.
