When specifying systems or products, specifiers may wish to delegate the choice of manufacturer's product to the contractor.
To help users do this consistently, two additional menu options have been added to the manufacturer suggestions list: Contractor's choice and Submit proposals.

Adding ‘Contractor’s choice’ or ‘Submit proposals’
‘Contractor’s choice’ or ‘Submit proposals’ can be added to the 'System manufacturer', ‘Manufacturer’, ‘Supplier’ and ‘Supplied by’ rows from the suggestions menu.
When added, they will appear as a chip in the specification editor. When published, the terms ‘Contractor’s choice’ or ‘Submit proposals’ will be displayed as plain text.

About ‘Contractor’s choice’ or ‘Submit proposals’
Some content sets contain definitions for these descriptions and activities in the ‘UK - CAWS Preliminaries’ and ‘UK - Uniclass Preliminaries’ content sets. Specifiers should make these definitions easily accessible to readers to allow contractors and other parties to fully understand what is meant by these terms.
The definitions are as follows:
Contractor’s choice means the selection delegated to the contractor, but liability to remain with the specifier.
See Figure 1: UK - CAWS ‘A31/145 Contractor's choice’ and Figure 2: Uniclass ‘PM_40_60_23 Description Terminology’.
Submit proposals means submit information in response to specified requirements.
See Figure 3: UK - CAWS ‘A31/155 Submit proposals’ and Figure 4: Uniclass ‘PM_40_60_05 Activities terminology’.
