August 2022
Like the wider industry, NBS is reviewing the consequences of the Building Safety Act, particularly in respect of the implications of Schedule 11, the changes to the Defective Premises Act, and the role of the Building Safety Regulator. We await the detail in the release of the supporting secondary legislation, due by May 2023, and the full implementation of the Act by the end of 2023; all of the above will have a bearing on the content we publish.
In the meantime, and as with all projects and legislative context, we anticipate that specifiers will appraise their particular circumstances when determining the influences of the new Building Safety Act; this bespoke appraisal will also apply to forthcoming amendments to the Building Act 1984.
We work on reviewing our content to keep up with the pace of the industry, striving to keep this content current, and for changes to be captured in our update cycle as soon as is practicable.
