The Schedule ‘Description’ column shows the text in the 'Description' row of the article/ clause. There are a couple of ways of adding the 'Description' row.

For the purpose of this guide, we have used the term article or clause 'row'. Rows are also commonly referred to by specifiers as paragraphs and sub-paragraphs.

The 'Description' row is often included in pre-written articles and clauses. If it is not, you can insert it. The description row can be in any position among the other rows in the article or clause.

TL;DR

If the article or clause does not contain a 'Description' row, you should add one. Schedules are flexible about where the description row is positioned. Text added after the description will be presented in the schedule ‘Description’ column.

  • The description row can be positioned anywhere in the article/ clause. So, the description row can go at the top, in the middle or at the bottom, and it can be indented.
  • If an article/ clause contains more than one description row, the schedule grid will show the text from the first one.
    • Description rows that have been parked will be ignored.
  • The ‘description’ label is case-insensitive and can have a colon, e.g. ‘Description’, ‘description’, ‘Description:’, ‘description:’, ‘DESCRIPTION’ and ‘DESCRIPTION:’
  • For sentence style rows, the text after 'Description:' will be displayed in the schedule 'Description' column.

Adding rows:

'Row label: Row value' and 'Sentence' styles will work with schedules.

Use the existing ‘description’ row

In certain content sets, articles and clauses include a pre-written description row provided by the content set.

Use the ‘Edit details of this schedule’ (Pencil icon)

If an article/ clause has already been tagged ‘schedule’, a description can be entered directly in the schedule grid using the ‘Edit details of this schedule’ ‘Pencil’ icon.

When text is entered into the 'Description' field in the 'Edit details' dialog, this will create a description row in the clause, unless there is one already.
