How to insert a table
Tables are added using either a keyboard shortcut or the menu button for a row.
To insert a table:
- Click into a row in the location where the table is required.
Note: Tables cannot be added into square bracket inserts. - Either use the keyboard shortcuts:
- Ctrl+Shift+G (Windows PC).
- Cmd+Shift+G (Apple Mac).
Or
Click on the three dot menu button for the row.
Then, select the Add a table option.
To edit a table once inserted, click on the blank table to open the Edit table window.
When inserting tables in your specification, we recommend adding them to 'sentence'-style rows to allow them more space on the page. You can use the 'Change row type' option to change 'Row label: Row value' row types to sentence-type rows.

Copying and pasting tables from outside Lattira Spec and NBS Chorus
Tables can be copied and pasted from the web, MS Word and MS Excel into Lattira Spec and NBS Chorus. The table layout and text will be carried into Chorus. Any text or cell formatting, formula's, embedded images or files will not be copied.
Please note:
- Tables need to be well-structured; note that not all tables on the web or other applications may paste into Lattira Spec and NBS Chorus perfectly. In situations where the table formatting or text is not copied correctly, we recommend recreating the tables manually by inserting them, rather than copying and pasting them.
Steps for copying and pasting tables:
- Select and copy the table from the external document or website.
- Switch to Lattira Spec and NBS Chorus and click into the article/ clause row where you want to insert the table.
- Paste the table using the shortcut keys:
- Ctrl+V (Windows PC).
- Cmd+V (Apple Mac).
Table headers
A header style cell formatting can be applied to the row at the top of a table. A header style cell formatting can also be applied to the first column at the left of a table.
The header selections that you make here correspond to table styles that can be used in custom stylesheets if you have a 'Pro' (or above) subscription.
There are four combinations.
- Row and column headers
Both the first column as a header and the top row as a header. Table style ‘chorus-table-colrow-headers’. - First column as header
Only the first column as a header. Table style ‘chorus-table-first-column-as-header’. - Top row as header
Only the top row as a header. Table style ‘chorus-table-top-row-as-header’. - Simple table without headers
A simple grid with no headers. Table style ‘chorus-table’.

Video overview of adding, editing and copying tables
The short video (no audio) below provides an overview of adding and using tables.
Tables in MS Word, NBS Building, NBS Create and NBS Landscape-imported files
Tables are not imported when importing files from MS Word, NBS Building, Landscape and Create. We recommend recreating them in the specification editor.
When tables are detected as part of the file import, the import report will identify where tables were found. Use the report to locate the table and recreate it in Lattira Spec and NBS Chorus.
