When publishing the specification to Microsoft Word or PDF, you can enter 'Publication details' and save it to the 'Publish history'.

Specifications that are saved to the publish history can be downloaded from the platform.

Please note: these features are enabled for 'Pro' (and above).

This document is not available for download

In the event that something went wrong during the publishing process, you may not be able to download previously published specifications from the publish history.

When this happens, you will see a grey icon in place of the usual download icon and a tooltip explaining that the document could not be downloaded.

What causes the publish history to fail to save the document?

Instances of specifications that are not downloadable from the publish history should be rare. However, it can happen when there is a fault with Amazon Web Services, which stores the download.

We recommend you continue to save the PDF or MS Word file you publish from the platform to your records rather than relying solely on the platform to save published specifications.

Should I delete publish history records if I cannot re-download the specification?

No. While the download may not be available, the record is still good and can be compared against for revision purposes. Only delete the records if you no longer need them for comparison.
