| 1 | Get the data in from the customer. | ||||||
| 2 | Preview the specification for yourself to find out which section has the Hexadecimal error. | ||||||
| 3 | Print preview the spec to identify which section the hex applies to. | ||||||
| 4 | Using 'NBS Programs' open up NBS Specification Utilities>Clause XML Editor. | ||||||
| 5 | Browse to the specification and open it up. | ||||||
| 6 | Find the section that is affected (e.g. F10) and browse through each clause until it finds the affected clause. To do this. Start at the top of the section and use the down arrow to go through each clause until it will not go down any further. The one it stops on is the clause with the unrecognised character. Important - Note the clause(s) containg the hex. You need to refer the user to this clause so they can check it later. | ||||||
| 7 | Copy the text from this affected clause into Programmers notepad. (another program within 'NBS Programs' | ||||||
| 8 | Look for any character with a black background and remove it. (Use wordwrap to find the character easier) | ||||||
| 9 | Copy the text back into the Clause XML Editor and click save. | ||||||
| 10 | Try previewing the specification, if you get the same error please repeat steps 2-8. | ||||||
| 11 | Once the spec previews correctly, please send the data back to the customer. Important - In your email explain the hex was in Clause XYZ and recommend that they check the clause before issuing the specification. | ||||||
