If you copy and paste text into your specification from another source such as a Microsoft Word document or a website, it may retain some or all of its original formatting attributes, for example, highlighting styles such as bold or underline, text attributes such as fonts, font sizes, font colours or other formatting such as list styles, paragraph alignment or hyperlinks.

To remove this formatting, firstly select (highlight) the affected text, the formatting control will be displayed. Then click the clear formatting Tx option. This will remove all formatting attributes from the pasted text.

Alternatively, rather than originally pasting the information as 'formatted text', which is the default pasting function. Most browsers support pasting information as 'plain text' instead. The keyboard shortcut for this is usually Ctrl + Shift + V (Win) or Cmd + Shift + V (Mac).
