'Separate prefixes' offers an alternative to 'Separate systems' or 'Separate groups'.
Publishing by 'Separate prefixes' will produce:
- A separate MS Word or PDF for each unique 'Prefix' in your publish selection.
- 'Systems' with different codes that share the same 'Prefix' will be published in the same MS Word/ PDF document.
- 'Activity' and 'Product' clauses not parented by a 'System' will be published as separate documents unless their 'Prefix' matches another 'System' prefix.
How to publish 'Separate prefixes'
To produce your specification to separate documents by the prefix:
- Go to your specification and click on 'Publish specification' or 'Actions' button.
- On the 'Structure' step:
- Choose a document format (MS Word or PDF).
- Choose a specification structure ('Single systems' or 'Grouped systems by code').
These are explained further below.
- Under 'Choose an output structure', select 'Separate prefixes'.
- Complete the 'Publish specification' wizard.
The 'Notifications panel' will show when your documents have been published to separate files with different file type symbols for .zip.
When you publish separate documents, the platform produces a single .zip file containing all of the separate documents.
