There are scenarios when 'Consolidate' will not allow you to merge clauses copied from masters or have model associations. The platform displays two messages: 'Max 1 clause associated with model' and 'Max 1 clause copied from master'.

This article explains these messages.

'Max 1 clause associated with a model'

The message 'Max 1 clause associated with a model' is shown when the clauses you have selected have been associated with more than one object in a BIM model, such as Autodesk Revit.

  • The associations could be to different objects in the same or other models.
  • If the associations amongst the selected clauses are to the same object in the same model, your clauses can be consolidated.

Hopefully, this is a rare scenario. To consolidate these clauses, you must remove the model associations before using 'Consolidate'. You must only have one unique model association among your selection of clauses.

'Max 1 clause copied from a master'

The message 'Max 1 clause copied from a master' is shown when the clauses you have selected originate from different clauses in the master.

  • The master clauses could be in the same master specification or separate masters.
  • If the rosette links amongst the selected clauses are to the same master clause, your clauses can be consolidated.

Hopefully, this is a scenario that will happen rarely. We recommend using 'Consolidate' on your master specifications and project specs.
