This article contains the parameters inserted into the graphical model when you associate articles and clauses.
This applies to coordinating your specification with models in Autodesk Revit, Bentley OpenBuildings Designer, Graphisoft Archicad and Vectorworks.
Parameters are inserted into the Type Properties of the object when they are associated with the specification content. This document outlines what is inserted into the Type Properties.
Parameters inserted by associating
These parameters are generic to all associations:
| Component object (e.g. a door) | Material object (e.g. a wall) | Corresponding specification field |
| NBSChorusPrefix | NBSChorusPrefix_mtrl | The article or clause 'Prefix'. |
| NBSChorusSuffix | NBSChorusSuffix_mtrl | The article or clause 'Suffix'. |
| NBSChorusClauseId | NBSChorusClauseId_mtrl | Article or clause ID. |
| NBSChorusSpecificationId | NBSChorusSpecificationId_mtrl | Specification ID. |
| NBSChorusProjectId | NBSChorusProjectId_mtrl | Project ID. |
| NBSChorusCategory* | NBSChorusCategory_mtrl* | The full article or clause code and title, separated by a colon. e.g. 'F10/110 : Clay Slips'. This is used for IFC outputs. |
| NBSChorusManProdURL* | NBSChorusManProdURL_mtrl* | The URL of the supplier's product listing in NBS Source or Archify. |
| NBSChorusProdRef* | NBSChorusProdRef_mtrl* | The article or clause 'Product reference'. |
| NBSChorusManName* | NBSChorusManName_mtrl* | The article or clause 'Manufacturer', 'Supplied by' or 'Supplier'. |
| NBSChorusDescription* | NBSChorusDescription_mtrl* | The article or clause 'Description'. |
| NBSChorusURL* | NBSChorusURL_mtrl* | The URL for the article or clause. To open this, you must have permission to the article or clause. |
| NBSSchema* | NBSSchema_mtrl* | The version of the association schema. |
*Required v4.1.1 (or newer) of the NBS Plug-in for Autodesk Revit.
The following parameters are associated with the content set on which the specification is based.
Applies to associations for specifications based on:
- Australia - Uniclass
- UK - Uniclass
| Component object (e.g. a door) | Material object (e.g. a wall) | Australian and UK specifications (Uniclass) |
| UniclassCode | UniclassCode_mtrl | Activity, System or Product Uniclass code |
| UniclassTitle | UniclassTitle_mtrl | Activity, System or Product Uniclass title |
Applies to associations for specifications based on:
- Australia - SpecPack
- Australia - SpeedSpec
- Australia - SureSpec
- Australia - Import from MS Word
| Component object (e.g. a door) | Material object (e.g. a wall) | Australian and UK specification (Uniclass) |
| NBSSectionCode* | NBSSectionCode_mtrl* | Section code |
| NBSSectionTitle | NBSSectionTitle_mtrl | Section or clause title |
Applies to associations for specifications based on:
- Canada - NMS and CMS
- Canada - NMS (French)
- Canada - Uniformat
- Canada - Uniformat (French)
- USA - USMS
| Component object (e.g. a door) | Material object (e.g. a wall) | Canadian specification (CMS, NMS and NMS French) |
| OmniClassCode* | OmniClassCode_mtrl* | Section code |
| OmniClassTitle | OmniClassTitle_mtrl | Section or Article title |
*You can associate objects with sections, clauses or articles in the Australia, Canadian and US content sets. For content sets which have dynamic article and clause numbers, when you associate an article or clause, the section code and article or clause title are inserted into the parameters. This is done because the article and clause code are not fixed; it will change when you insert or park a preceding article.
Applies to associations for specifications based on:
- UK - CAWS
| Component object (e.g. a door) | Material object (e.g. a wall) | UK specification (UK CAWS) |
| CAWSCode | CAWSCode_mtrl | Section or Clause code |
| CAWSTitle | CAWSTitle_mtrl | Section or Clause title |
Showing material parameters
To show the material associations in Revit select the object > Properties window Edit Type > Click Structure then Edit > Select the row for the layer you want in the Material column > Material Browser > Custom Parameters button.
Parameters inserted for NBS Building, Create and Landscape
These parameters are applicable only to NBS Building, Create, and Landscape within Autodesk Revit, using the NBS Plug-in for Autodesk Revit.
The platform inserts different parameters from NBS Building, Landscape and Create to allow a model (that was coordinated with one of these specifications) to be coordinated with a specification.
For information, these are the parameters that are inserted when you associate with a specification from these products.
| Component object (e.g. a door) | Material object (e.g. a wall) | Australian and UK specifications (Uniclass) |
| NBSReference | NBSReference_mtrl | System or Product code |
| NBSDescription | NBSDescription_mtrl | System or Product title |
| NBSTypeID | NBSTypeID_mtrl | System or Product suffix |
| NBSOfficeMasterTag | NBSOfficeMasterTag_mtrl | |
| NBSChorusClauseId | NBSChorusClauseId_mtrl | |
| NBSChorusSpecificationId | NBSChorusSpecificationId_mtrl | |
