Applies to: Australia and UK Uniclass work sections content sets

The 'Uniclass Work section' clauses 'Suggest' related clauses to specify. However, there may be instances where you need to link to a clause from another part of the content set or your specification to suit your specific needs. For example, if the exact insulation type you need isn't listed among the suggested insulation products, you might know that the relevant content exists elsewhere within the Uniclass content set.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Using the 'All content' feature

Using the All content (formerly 'More content') feature, you can:

  1. Add and link to clauses from the content set.
  2. Link to clauses you already have in your specification.
  3. Add Placeholder clauses.

Following feedback, 'More content' has been renamed to 'All content'. We have also turned the menu option into a button. March 2023. NBS Create had a similar feature called 'As clause'.

At the bottom of the drop-down menus, you will see the All content option.

Clicking on this option will present you with the All content menu. The Content set tab is pre-selected by default, to search the whole content set to add and link new clauses or to add placeholder clauses. You can also select the In this specification tab, to search and link existing clauses in your specification.

The 'Content set' tab

The Content set tab is pre-selected by default and allows you to search for any clause, including all types* available in the content set.

This means you can link clauses of all types* (e.g. systems, system performance, products, execution, system completion and systems facility management etc.).

This includes authored and template clauses.

*The exception is Elements/ functions (EF) clauses which only permit links to System (Ss) clause types.

From this menu, you can search for the content you require, choose from a list, preview the clause structure and add directly from this search dialog.

Use the checkboxes in the Add clause column to add and link a new clause or clauses.

Use the checkboxes in the Add placeholder column to add a placeholder clause or clauses.

The 'In this specification' tab

A cornerstone of good specification practice is to say it once, and link to it from all parts of the specification.

The In this specification tab can be selected and allows you to link clauses that have already been added to the specification.

This means you can link clauses of all types* (e.g. systems, system performance, products, execution, system completion and systems facility management etc.).

This includes authored and template clauses.

*The exception is Elements/ functions (EF) clauses which only permit links to System (Ss) clause types.

From this menu, you can search for the content you require, choose from a list, preview the clause content and structure, together with details of other clauses it is currently linked into (Shared by) and add directly from this search dialog.

Use the checkboxes to the left of the clause titles to add and link an existing clause or clauses.

All clause types

When adding/ linking clauses, we recommend doing so to clauses of the same 'type'. For example, if you click on the 'All content' option from a 'System performance' row, we recommend only adding/ linking to performance clauses. Similarly, when you click on the 'All content' option from an 'Execution' row, we recommend only adding/ linking to execution clauses.

The All clause types option allows you to filter your search results by clause type.
